PREDICTING AND PREVENTING ADVERSE OUTCOMES IN PLACENTA DYSFUNCTION RELATED DISORDERS

The definition of the disease complex "preeclampsia" is changing as is our understanding of the pathophysiology of the condition. Placenta dysfunction related adverse outcomes comprise a wide range of obstetric complications that are common in our daily work. Precise prediction is key to prevention of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. The introduction of angiogenic biomarkers such as sFlt-1 and PlGF have helped to better predict and prevent adverse vents. However, in the daily routine, differential diagnosis is often not straight forward. In this online course we focus on how to best predict outcome.

This course is centered around practical knowledge transfer. For this, we have chosen a case-based format. After a short introduction into each topic, case examples from the daily work of the speakers are used to illustrate management. The course is interactive and will allow questions and discussion at any time.
